I disagree with notion that clearing IIT should be a benchmark. Students waste years just preparing to crack a multi-choice type of questions, and may not lead to creativity. What is needed is creativity and deep understanding of concepts, and clearing JEE should not be the main goal. Just as you have done well in life after going to a normal college, JEE need not translate to success in life
